General World History and Lore

Before time began, the eternal one simple known as The Eternal Great King, (The Lord of Light and Life, The God of gods, The Highest of All Arcane, The Maker) breathed life into the realm, creating an expanse where everything existed but nothing was in order. He molded together a world and called it Celestia. He also created acolytes, five celestial creatures called Vergers, who would set to work on the creation, according to The Eternal Great King’s design.

Four of the Vergers set to work on creating energy and powers, called elements: air, water, earth, and fire. All of these elements sparked the completed work of the planet Celestia. The Eternal Great King began filling it with beings formed from the bonding of these elements (today we call them gods and goddesses), who worship the King and subdue the world. The Vergers worked together with the gods of Celestia to forge great artifacts and boons and abilities, known as Relics of the Dawn, to be used by the pantheon of Celestia.

Orion, The Great Old One

The first Verger the Eternal Great King made was named Orion, The Great Old One, who was the biggest and strongest Verger. He was tasked with constructing the Astral plane, which was the foundation for the Upper Planes and Celestia. Being the first among The Eternal Great King’s creations, he felt his power was earned, not given, and he set out to create his very own dimension. He stole from his four siblings their elemental powers, leaving their souls as lifeless elemental chaos. Orion twisted The Eternal Great King’s designs to manufacture his own realm where he might be a new king over a much more powerful world.

The Eternal Great King was displeased. Orion’s destructive realm began tearing into the cosmos, creating mirror dimensions to the planet Celestia. Orion also was whispering lies to the inhabitants of Celestia and offering freedom from the “tyranny” of The King. Some of the gods listened and cursed The Eternal Great King with their lips!

The Splitting of the Planes

The King struck Orion, causing a split in the realms and scattering Orion into a million pieces across the Astral Plane. The followers of Orion and the followers of The Eternal Great King wages war on Celestia, which is called The Clash of the Sovereigns (Also called The War of the gods). Their battle caused great destructing to the planet. Those who chose Orion’s side were cast into the Lower Planes, called The Abyss.

The Eternal Great King laid his four Vergers to rest between the Astral Realm and the Ethereal plane, thus trapping the chaotic elementals powers from rupturing the Material Plane. There, his acolytes rested, and the Planes of Fire, Earth, Water, and Air were founded upon them. The planet Celestia was given a new name: Orn.
And the Eternal Great King stepped back behind the curtain of space and time, never to be seen again.
